Personal Statement

My name is Alfian Luhur Pambudi. Seventeen years ago, I was born in Yogyakarta, bounding into a world of love and laughter. I live in a poor, but happy family. My high school was done in the acceleration class at SMA N 8 Yogyakarta. I was the greatest student that got the best mark in the final exam. My undergraduate program was just started in this academic year at Institut Teknologi Bandung, Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering.

I am seeking the opportunity to pursue this scholarship in order to support tuition fee and my studying facilities, include a notebook that I can bring it anywhere as a computer in my hand and the printer. Not only those, I also need some textbooks as the “guide” in my study, which presents the window of knowledge. These are the modals to get the success in life and of course in studying.

I remember a short story that makes me change my own perspective dramatically. One day when I was in junior high school, my sister came back from a shopping trip, she bought a new cell phone that supported by an internet service. I am very happy because I could borrow it to download some games. Actually I confused at first because there were many games in the website. Then I chose the strategic games one, Aqua Dig. Maybe some people scoffed at such an old-fashioned game. Who would want to waste glorious time to play that game, pretending to be a sea miner? However, after playing that game once, I absolutely riveted by the nuances of mining and soon began loosing sleep as I tried to drill the sea ground, mine some minerals, use explosive bomb and better understand the game’s ever changing dynamics. Deeper the layer ground I’ve dug, I got some valuable materials such as gold, diamond, ruby, and oil. I spent my time absorbed by the game, my sister grinned knowingly. How could I resist being fascinated with this, she asked me, when I incessantly read about mining and petroleum.

Though my passion for this field undoubtedly dates back to high school, I never had the chance to fully develop this interest before college. Once I arrived at ITB, however, I discovered that I could learn about mining through my education. Academically, I will decide to concentrate in engineering of petroleum.

Interestingly, I think that I have learned at least as much about mining and petroleum through my study in college as I have through my classes. Thankfully, I will have also found time for over few years later to cultivate interests and skills unrelated to academics by following some student activity units.

Because of my wide range of interests, I have not yet decided what career path to follow in the future. In the short run, I hope to study for fast track program which I can get double degree only in 5 years. And then, I would like to study abroad, in the process immersing my self in another culture and deepening my personal and academic understanding of mining and petroleum, especially in geothermal energy. After studying abroad, my options would include working for an oil company, entering the mining world and attending an environmental school. In the long run, I envision for my self a career straddling the highest levels of engineering in mining and petroleum. I could achieve this admittedly ambitious goal by advancing within an oil company or OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries). Perhaps most appealingly, I could also achieve some degree of influence over actual converting energy decisions─that is, becoming a player my self in the real-life game of mining.

By letting me to be my self, not changing only to adjust with people in my surrounding, I learn from this friendship how to be more independent and to accept both my weakness and strengths as an individual. My life experiences have moulded me into a hardworking and what I would call an "unflappable" person. Besides opening up the world of scientific research to me, my experiences here have taught me that mistakes do not always have to hold me back, and often take me closer to my goal. Things often look easy to do at first glance, but a lot of hard work is involved in making them seem that way. After standardizing some protocols myself, I now understand the kind of effort that goes into developing the techniques that make my work so much easier. I thank to God because of his grace. Till this seconds, my steps always followed by luck and I believe that all what I want is what I've got.

I am looking forward to the challenges that this project presents as well as the opportunities for further maturation as a practicing engineer. Ensconcing my self in Bandung’s culture, intellectual environment and vigorous research at ITB is the chance of a lifetime. I hope to be able to seize these.

episode 2

Continua da ieri. Mercoledì, il co ngasi fiori e regali per il CE, mentre il portafoglio ce ngasi al co. Lunedi era originariamente montato compleanno IRAS, creare un burattino mbeliin ce co. in casa mia, il co fare un biglietto di auguri scritto "non ci sono motivi per smettere di amarti" e "Voglio tenere la mano fino al giorno della morte." Inizialmente penso che se era aja pazzo, quello che non è stato niente di simile già, che dire del giorno dopo? IRAS adatta compleanno, mi è stato detto che il marchio CE non amava il co tutto il cuore. oh mio dio. finora ... Non riesco a immaginare se così co lo sanno. come la mia missione iniziale, nessun suggerimento per il vostro amore di viaggio. Voglio sapere tutto, ma io non voglio commentarla. dopo l'evento, il co ylur seguire la moto, ho chiesto dove si desidera? ha detto voglio andare a casa tua. vuoi fare? vogliono avvolgere regali per ce. continuare la sera stessa ci dono mbuntel. ylur continuano a consigliare di comprare una rosa bianca per il marchio CE. co dono ngasi il giorno successivo, e così ha fatto con la CE. il momento per dire se ce ama la co ma purtroppo come un amico. dato che l'incidente, il co silenzio. Ha accusato il IRAS, IRAS dà un'idea che pensava fosse una cattiva idea di amarli naufragato. Giovedi c'è scenario tra il CO e il CE a scuola, ma quando ha aperto insieme nelle gallerie, hanno fatto di nuovo. e speravo che potesse durare per sempre e posso melupakn. quindi i loro risultati accademici andrà giù e mi è stato aumentato. ea quanto pare, così posso terminare la storia di due episodi che non sono qualificati questo con la lingua italiana.

E 'questo un amico?

Sono stato ad ascoltare questa canzone continua solo, come egli lamentava quanto è successo a me stesso e quelli intorno a me. Mi sento distante da loro, quando è sbagliato. Non riesco a coprire questa malattia. Penso che dopo ce co della manifestazione si spara, la mia vita è talmente tranquilla gag Gini. I gag di sentirsi liberi con il mio migliore amico e uno di loro che sono stati fedeli a me, alla fine mi ha lasciato solo. Accetto tutto quello che dai. ma le conseguenze, è inoltre deve ricevere lo stesso che ti ho dato. IRAS ora e ho pianto per la partenza il nostro migliore amico. Ho perso il co, mentre l'IRAS perdere la CE. Inizialmente sono rimasto scioccato per dirci se la co temen temen felice come il C, al tempo ero malato e gag a scuola. Vi incoraggio a me stesso di entrare nella scuola di domani. Venerdì sono andato dentro, e dopo la preghiera del Venerdì di sparare ce co. entrambi erano lì in fondo, mentre siamo lì davanti a tutti, aspettando la certezza della CE. aspettato quasi un anno, e alla fine ha dato risposte che l'approccio aja in primo luogo, ad emettere in poi, ci sarà anche il resto. dopo che sono andato a casa ancora in antera al co. 4 ore del pomeriggio è tornato a casa mia co creare insieme per aprire insieme in un ristorante. SINED anche non la invitano. ce allora, l'IRAS di essere di nuovo a casa. egli passeggeri minuti di doccia e dormire lì. quando ha ottenuto la collaborazione in casa mia, sì kayak è di solito, stiamo parlando di questioni di gag colpo era stato troppo. Io continuo a fare il bagno, doccia ho montaggio del SINED viene. IRAS notte stessa mi smsan. IRAS era anche veramente sento perso per quello che è successo per il CE, e io pure. Ho anche riversato il mio cuore a passarlo. E 'stato molto malato, ma di saper più? Sono assolutamente d'accordo se potessero collegare, ma mi hanno ignorato. Ho già escluso, per quanto il co. Odio questo. io odio tutti voi. Ti ammazzo tutti e sarò l'assassino.
